Bank of America in Shirley NY UPDATE! JUNE 17th 2008
Bank of America has opened a lower counter top area for people who can use the "average" counter top.
JANUARY 2008
I recently went to the Bank of America located on 1017 Montauk Highway in Shirley, I found that the teller's counters were above my head (I'm in a wheelchair). The teller had to standup look up and over the counter to even see me. When she asked me to "swipe" my account card I could not access that or could I even see the top in order to put in my PIN number. Although every employee there was MORE than helpful and kind, I do not think it is too much to ask for access to all of the bank's features. Also the ATM"s were very difficult to reach.
I have contacted the Bank via email and snail mail await a response. I will post one as soon as I get one.
I received an email from Bank of America stating that they were sorry and that they would try and fix the problem that I had with their ATM----- apparently they didn't take the time to read my email fully---they never addressed the issue of the counter at the teller windows. Maybe the "snail mail" will get a better response.
